The Kir-8 Canoe is a 7.1m outrigger sailing canoe that was commissioned by the FAO. It seems that the KIR-8 canoe is an updated model of the earlier KIR-2 canoe, both designed by Norwegian Naval Architect Dr Ovylind Gulbrandsen. The FAO is the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation
